Today marks Comic Book Day. Every year on September 25, comic book readers, collectors, lovers, and fans participate by picking up a comic book to read.
We want to help you take that experience one step further… Since it’s all #BEERLOVE here, why not taste some comic book / pop-culture themed brews to go along with your comic book reading! We searched the internet far and wide to find some awesome brews that align perfect with Comic Book Day. Check them out below!
Inspired by the Legend of Zelda Series, Triforce is the ultimate source of power according to the original story. Atlanta, GA based brewery Second Self Beer Co. has taken that concept and brewed this beer with what they call the Triforce of malts (oats, wheat, and barley).
Raise a goblet of Klingon Imperial Porter to the strongest warriors in the Galaxy. Discover the ruby undertones that pay homage to Klingon Bloodwine and fallen warriors who hold honor above life. “There is no honor in attacking the weak,” so take pleasure in besieging this 9.0% ABV Imperial Porter.
Let’s be real here: Ruckus Brewing’s Hoptimus Prime Couble IPA may not give you Autobot strength but, its 9% ABV combined with 5 different hops, 3 distinct malts, and a two-week dry hopping process will no doubt wake your taste buds up. This brew is obviously best served while enjoying any of the Transformers’ comics!
Inspired by the iconic Quentin Tarantino film “Reservoir Dogs”. This Danish craft brewery, To Øl Brewery, has a series of brews named after each of the characters in the film. Our personal favourite is Mr. Pink of course.
Brewery Ommegang has been in the news a lot the last few years because they have earned the exclusive rights to brew beer for arguably the best television show of all time – Game of Thrones. Bend the Knee is their most recent release. It pays homage to the struggle for control over the Seven Kingdoms.
Luckily for fans, they just announced their newest brew that is currently in production called King In The North. That brew won’t be released until Black Friday (November 23) but you can certainly build up your anticipation for both the beer and the show by trying Bend The Knee first since winter is coming…
The 2019 edition of Toronto’s Festival of Beer presented by the Beer Store happens July 26 to 28 at Bandshell Park Exhibition Place.
