It’s for your own safety so let’s work together on this and it will help everything move a lot quicker. Below is our formal notice regarding our safety protocol when entering the event…

In order to provide our patrons with a safe environment, the following security measures may be in effect:

Q: Where Is The Actual Entrance To Toronto’s Festival of Beer 2019?

The entrance to Toronto’s Festival of Beer is in front of the Better Living Centre (195 Princes’ Blvd). All Gates (A, B, C) will go through the front entrance of the BLC. (Say BLC in your best Snoop Dogg impersonation and you’re a legend) This is just a few steps away from where the entrance has been for the past number of years, so it’s not a dramatic change – just wanted to give everyone the heads up.

Q: Can I Bring A Backpack?

The quick answer is no… Bags are restricted to small purses, totes and drawstring bags only. Bag size may not exceed 14” x 11” x 5” (35cm x 28cm x 12cm), or 30 linear inches (75cm) in total, and must have no more than one singular pocket or opening. We’ll be using metal detector wands and searching all small bags, totes, and drawstring bags at the gate – it’s not that we don’t trust you, it’s just how it goes! You’ve all been to events before and witnessed someone giving security a hard time over searching their belongings. The reason we do it is not because you’re a criminal, but because we want everyone to be safe and have a great time.

Q: What Are The Rules Around Smoking Cigarettes / Cannabis?

We will have designated smoking areas on the grounds where smoking is permitted. If our security staff see you smoking outside these designated areas they will ask you to extinguish your smoke and move to the proper area. If you refuse to abide by the smoking policy, our security staff will kindly ask you to leave the festival grounds. We don’t want to do that – lets just have fun and be courteous to everyone so we can all have a good time!

You will be allowed to enter the festival with a small quantity of “personal use only” cannabis (recreational or medicinal) in a pre-rolled format (max 3 pre-rolled, single-wide at 68-70mm in length). Entry will be denied for anyone with loose leaf cannabis, cannabis edibles / oils or other cannabis products. All other illegal substances are strictly prohibited.

Q: Will I be photographed at the event?

Our photography / video team might see you and say… “WOW! That person looks like they are having the best time, I need to capture this moment!” If that happens you should know that by entering the event premises, you consent to photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for news, web casts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on websites, social media, or any other purpose by Beerlicious Inc.

Q: What If I Want To Drive?

Don’t drive! It’s a Beer Festival and chances are you’ll be enjoying some beverages. Please enjoy the convenience of the TTC or a cab or an Ubes. Yeah, we said Ubes. We recommend finding Pay Parking in Liberty Village or just avoiding driving altogether, if that’s an option for you.

You need to stay hydrated. That’s why we offer FREE WATER through our quench buggy on site. Just take your commemorative mug (which you get when you arrive), rinse it out and fill it up at a water station. Do not bring your water bottle from home, they will be taken away.

Q: What Happens If It Rains? Or If It’s Too Hot?

Whatever the weather, we will still be pouring. Rain or shine, the show goes on! Remember to dress for the weather and wear sunblock. Even if it is grey and cloudy, wear sunblock. This is vital. Sunblock and water are soooooooo key!! Your raincoat and rubber boats may make your experience if it calls for rain.

Q: Do You Really have 400+ Brews To Discover?

Approximately 100 brewers from all over the world will be here. Try something new, something crazy or maybe something you can’t pronounce. Let us open your eyes to a whole new world of beer. *Starts singing A Whole New World from Aladdin*. Seriously, At TFOB we have every type of brewer imaginable. We will post the final list by June, 2019 so keep checking back and you’ll find all the details! Explore them all and be sure to take lots of eating breaks. This is all part of #TasteTFOB – our commitment to providing an incredible food experience. We will definitely raise the bar again in 2019! Stay tuned!

Q: Will There Be Water For Me To Drink?

Your raincoat, rubber boats, umbrella may make your experience if it calls for rain.

Q: Do You Really have 400+ Brews To Discover?

Our festival hosts 100 brewers from all over the world every year and most brewers bring multiple brands. Try something new, something crazy or maybe something you can’t pronounce. Let us open your eyes to a whole new world of beer. *Starts singing A Whole New World from Aladdin*. Seriously, At TFOB we have every type of brewer imaginable. From big to small, and, from local to international.

Thanks For The #BeerLove… See You Next Year!

TFOB_Thankyou_Web

TFOB 2018 is in the books.

Here are some takeaways from the event that was:

1) #TFOB2018 Got Pretty Funky! Listen friends… We knew Sour Beer was the hot topic going in to this year, but we didn’t realize how funky things were going to actually get. Our TFOB Spotlight was bumping all weekend long with all your favourite hits. At one point, if you looked inside it was a raging dance party. So, cheers to keeping things funky and loving sour beer!

2) Get In Ma Belly! The food this year was outstanding! We had so many options to choose from, including fried chicken to pay respect to Luda’s Chicken & Beer album. We had some new vendors join us as well like ONO Pokè and The Jerk Bros, while some vendors returned from previous years like Fidel Gastros and Ted’s World Famous BBQ. Basically, it was impossible for

3) Toronto Stands By Its Neighbours! We launched a special TorontoStrong ticket offer last week for our Thursday Night show. This ticket was valued at $25 + HST and 100% of the proceeds are being donated back to the families affected by the Danforth Shooting Tragedy. We managed to raise $10,000 with this ticket in the 24 hours it was on sale and to make this story even better, Broken Social Scene agreed to donate an additional $5,000 to the cause as well. We are reaching out to our brewery friends and beer family for additional support for the fund. Torontoians stand strong in times of need.

4) The New Brews On The Block Are Amazing! We had 12 brewers set up at #TFOB2018 for the very first time in our New Brews, presented by TekSavvy pavilion and they were a huge hit. From Midtown Brewery, to OverHop, to even Glutenberg, these brewers set the bar for having some incredible products and you knew exactly why when you spoke with them. They all are so passionate when they talk about their product so congrats to them on making this year’s festival even better than it already was.

5) Join The CLUB! This was the second year we offered Club TFOB experience and you proved to us once again that you appreciate the luxury experience. Chef Craig Harding of Campagnolo, La Palma, and Constantine displayed his amazing culinary skills, alongside full-sized brew samples, wine and more. The ticket also got you early access to TFOB and air conditioned VIP restrooms, snacks and more. We will be offering Club TFOB again next year, so stay tuned!

6) Let There Be Music! TFOB Thursday features the likes of some pretty rad Canadian Bands. The Darcys, The Rural Alberta Advantage and Broken Social Scene put a whole new spin on the music component at TFOB and based on your feedback – you were totally in to it! Ludacris put on an electrifying performance on Friday to a sold out crown of 11,000 people. It was absolutely bonkers looking out to the crowd and seeing an ocean of beer lovers like yourself take it all in. TFOB Saturday was a great day to sing all your favourite hits because Dwayne Gretzky rocked the park. They sang everything from 70s hits, 80s hits, to some 90s favourites and even early 2000s so there was something for everyone to sing. Our personal favourite was when they sang Bohemian Rhapsody and the enter park sang in unison – what an amazing experience. Finally, TFOB Sunday brought some kick-ass rock and roll bands to the OLG Bandshell Stage which included I Mother Earth and Finger Eleven. They even joined forces at the end and sand on stage together. We also can’t forget how awesome the opening acts were too, Stuck On Planet Earth and Brothers of North did an amazing job and really put on an in your face rock-and-roll show that helped prime people for the grand finally to the weekend.

All in all, a pretty epic weekend that saw great weather, countless good times and smiling facing all around. Hope you’ll join us again next year. We’ll go on sale December 1st 2018.

Thank you for all the #BeerLove

The TekSavvy Tap Series with Glutenberg Craft Brewery

Newbrews-Brewer_Glutenberg

Beer discovery is the most important part of Toronto’s Festival of Beer. We offer hundreds of brews to try: some you have heard of, and some maybe not. We have created the New Brews presented by TekSavvy programme to do two things: 1) Allow brewers who have never been to our event the chance to feature their product to the masses. 2) Allow beer lovers the chance to discover new brews.

As part of this programme, we will be rolling out information about each participating brewer throughout the month of June in a series we are calling the TekSavvy Tap Series, to help you get to know who our New Brews are! So, without further ado – here is Glutenberg Craft Brewery:

What made you want to become a brewer? Tell your story!

Confounders Julien Niquet and David Cayer initially came up with the idea of brewing a gluten-free beer in 2011. Julien, an entrepreneur at heart, had always dreamed of leading his own company. Diagnosed with celiac disease a decade earlier and completely appalled by what the market had to offer in terms of gluten-free beers, he and David saw a unique opportunity to fulfill an ever-growing need.

What kind of beers will you be bringing to TFOB 2018? If you have tasting notes that you could share with fans, it will paint a picture of what they can expect?

We are excited to be showcasing two styles, Glutenberg Blonde and Glutenberg IPA.

Glutenberg Blonde

Glutenberg’s Blonde is the proud originator of the series, the pioneer of real good gluten-free beer. Airy and lemony, this thirst-quenching beer reveals floral and lightly herbal notes, making room for a dry and tasty finale.

Glutenberg IPA

Glutenberg’s IPA is a dream come true for craft beer fans. A true little bomb of flavours,it presents a perfect harmony between citrus aroma, hop freshness and bitterness. It guarantees a soft contact with taste buds, releasing apricot and soft caramel notes. Its exacerbated dry side makes its bouquet of flavours shine and ensures its good aromatic persistence.

What are you most excited about participating at TFOB 2018?

We are very excited about meeting beer enthusiasts from around the world and having them try our delicious 100% Gluten free beers!

Where can people find more information about your brewery, other brews you are making, etc?

People can learn more about our brewery on our website http://glutenberg.ca/en as well as follow us on Instagram @Glutenbergbeer

Make sure you check out the New Brews presented by TekSavvy on-site at TFOB 2018. There will be 12 brewers showcasing the fruits of their labour, along with free WiFi for beer lovers to share their discoveries.  We will feature each brewer leading up to TFOB 2018. And yes, the New Brews presented by TekSavvy pavilion will be on-site for all four days of TFOB.
